I just bought one of these & I am really impressed. The hollow body helps create a cool sound both amplified & unamplified.
The thing is a piece of art too. Even my wife said so.
Chris has also been great to deal with. |

What style did you get Mike, with F holes?
Can you post a clip of it's tones?
What kind of PU?
Do you think a Rick style horseshoe PU would accentuate it's positives, sound wise, or be too much?
How much does it weigh?
6 or 8 strings?
I've been interested in one for a long time, thanx for the good news? |

The one I got does not have f holes. It is a very simple shape about 9" wide at bottom and 4" wide at top of the head. (Not an hourglass shape). It is not a resophonic model but does have enough unamplified sound for solo practice or controlled acoustic jamming.
Everthing on this guitar is metal. The dots on the fretboard are black allen screws. The front and back are attached with silver allen screws. An allen wrench was included.
I'm not familiar with the Rick type pickup. It occurs to me that making modifications to its metal body would be tricky for a novice luthier. It has a humbucker (I think). It seems that the tone pot turns bright at "2" (not a proportional change per angle of rotation). That's any observation, not a criticism. I would like it better if both knobs were together on the far side of the fretboard. This guitar has one on either side of the guitar so my hand rests on the tone knob. The jack lies on the centerline of the guitar which necessitates a 90 degree plug.
It has an easily removable back cover to provide access to wiring.
I'm really impressed with the craftsmanship on this guitar. I was concerned that that it would be a little 'rough around the edges' but it is very refined. |

I have a Fouke Industrial lap steel, I believe its called the "Rail" model. I really like it. The humbucking pickup on mine has a coil tap which gives me a broad spectrum of tone. |

I want one too.
I have one on my Birthday list, Father's Day list. Because I am a good person list. Maybe this will be the year I get one. If I do order one, I am going to have them use a Bill Lawrence "blade" style pickup. |
