Anyone know who the steel player is on this album? http://www.mele.com/v3/info/3046.htm

Braddah Smitty's brother, Charles K. Smith, lives in south FL. He sounds a whole lot like Gabby.

Sounds like Paul Kim to me. Paul is on the Byrd's Nest Hawaiian Steel Volume 3. Will follow up and check on this.

Sounds like all Feet Rogers licks. The solo after the first verse of "Maile Lau Li'ili'i" is total xerox-machine (licks, not feel) of Feet's solo with the Sons of Hawai'i.

By the way, I strongly urge that one does not learn Hawaiian lyrics from this particular album.

Bob, the steel player is Sonny Lim, who is also playing ukulele and slack key guitar on some of the tracks. Here's a list of the other musicians.

Duane Yamada: Bass
Ka'iwi Kihoi: Ukulele
Karl Kasberg: Keyboards
Bruddah Smitty: 12 string Ovation
