Stringmaster Question

How does the tone control on a 55' Stringmaster with the slider type neck switches work? Does it blend the sound of the neck and bridge pickups for the selected neck or does it actually effect the tone of both pickups together? The reason I ask is that when I have the outside neck selected and I rotate the tone control counter clockwise (full bass) I get no sound from the neck pickup.

In the blend control; wheather it's the blend control knob on later model stringmasters or the tone knob on early models, the bridge pickup is always on. In full open position(full clock-wise)both pickups are equal. AS you turn "counter clock-wise" you are turning down the neck pickup; until off.
