Thank you, Jack Stoner, and another Forum $ Contribution

Post by Jim Cohen »

Thanks again, Jack, for your help with my computer problem. You just saved me from paying my local shop about $70 just to look at it! So, I'm gonna send a PayPal contribution of $10 over to Uncle b0b and the Forum in your honor. I still come out way ahead and it's a good way to help support the Forum.
How 'bout you other guys? Anyone else ever get information here on the Forum that directly saved them some money? Consider sharing the savings with the Forum! If it weren't for the Forum, I would never have met Jack.
Happy New Year!

Thanks, Jim! Image

I looked at the books for the past year and realized that I'm still sinking hundreds of dollars into the Forum every month. Small businesses don't make money in their first few years - I realize that - but if it doesn't improve in another year or two I may have to change the financial model. I want it to be profitable by the time I retire (in about 15 years).

Thanks again. Image

Bobby- How about all members subscribing by the year like PSGA, which I have subsribed to for over 25 years.

$20. or so for the year. It is surely worth it , just like a magazine subsricption. I remember you used to have 2000 members and that is $40,000.

I notice you don't post number of members anymore, so I am not sure of this number.

Anyway , I am willing. I think this Forum is great. Thank you for starting it......al Image Image
[This message was edited by Al Marcus on 11 January 2002 at 11:30 AM.]

Al ,

That is a great idea !!! I sure would give a thumbs up on such an arrangement ! I would a whole lot rather pay a subscription fee to support this forum than some things I have paid more than that for in the past that have not been nearly as much help to me as this forum has .

I hope others will feel the same as you and me and get something as reasonable as the price you suggested , started .It is a small price to pay for the benefits gained in my opinion !

b0b , you sure have my ok vote on an arrangement such as Al suggested and many thanks for the hard work and $$ you have already put into this venture .

John

Whenever any organization has memberships, it has to deal with the problems of record keeping, collection of fees, and the work associated with that. While I totally agree with the idea of providing a basic cash flow for the Forum, why don't we all just mark our personal calendars to contribute $25.00 (or whatever) at least once a year.

I'm making an entry in my Palm Pilot to beep at me Monday to get a M.O. to send in. (at my age, I need the "beeping" reminder!!) Image Image
[This message was edited by Don Walters on 13 January 2002 at 07:53 AM.]

There are several members who send in their "dues" once a year. I think it's a great idea, as long as I don't have to send out renewal notices. Image

I can surely go along with this proposal. I used to belong to another association but got censured severly on my discussions. I really appreciate the literary licence I enjoy on the Forum and actually was saving up to make a contribution larger than the one suggested. I will have a check in the snail mail to you, b0b about the 1st week in Feb. Put your money where your mouth is was they used to tell us !!

Regards, Paul

Well, I just recently sent a donation of $100. to show b0b that I appreciate this forum.
I will send my "dues" each year and don't need a renewal notice.
This is a great Forum for Steel Guitar. I wished we had something like this about 50 years ago..Thank you Bobby Lee....al Image Image.
