Digital cameras -- say goodbye to film !

Post by David Pennybaker »

I shot this a month or so ago, and I just HAD to show it off:

(Warning, it's 1 MB in size).

Due to the great lighting, I shot this at ISO=100, f/5.6, 1/250 second.

The lens was the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 with the 1.4x adapter on it. I shot it with the Canon D-30 digital SLR.

I converted the photo from RAW format to TIFF, then did some adjusting in Photoshop (color-balance, cropping to 8x10, ressing up to 240 ppi for printing, and sharpening).

Now if only all my shots could turn out this good, I'd be in business.

Hahahaha.

Unfortunately, my shot of the steel player wasn't nearly as good.

In order, I'd say the best pictures were:

bass player
drummer
keyboard player
steel player

What this means, of course, is that the camera/lens is better than I am. Image
