Topic: stomp pedal to replace profex |

Sometimes I don't want to bother running my profex/power amp/112E's setup and just want 1 amp (Nashville 1000) and an effects box.
The trick is, though, it must have chorus effect as well as delay.
Any suggestions? |

Tony....
I'm haveing a real good experience with a "BOSS" DD-3 delay unit and a "400" amp.
I find that I can also go stright to mixer board from the "DD-3" resulting in a teriffic solid sound to the audiuence.(Do not use any reverb on the mixer-board tho,as you can get a good reverb effect from the "DD-3")

No, It dosen't. I find that I really don't need the chours efx mode in the stomp-box if I diddle with the settings on the "DD-3" a bit.
P.S. Also... Don't use any reverb on the amp. this adds greatly to the effect of the "DD-3" and really gets muddy. you wind up looseing all short notes played due to the sutaine action of the amp reverb. Case in point... try playing "Rocky Top" with a stomp-box and full reverb on the amp.
Signal path is:
1) from axe to
2) Stomp-box to
3) Volumne Pedal to
4) Amp
That way,you don't get any "ring-thru" when you shut down the volumne. I find that putting the pedal before the stomp-box creates a meter problem with the other band members as they hear the delayed notes if I am playing a short,blocked fill of notes. (triple run,and hammer-on notes)

Hey Tony:
I couldn't make it last Saturday to hear you play because I got side tracked as usual!
I use the Boss 3 pedal case with the power supply and TU12-H tune installed. I use a DD-3 for a longer delay, a DD-2 for a slap delay and a RV-3 for reverb. You can install any Boss pedal in this case and it has the advantage of using any pedal independantly or any combination. You also don't have to be concerned with turning dials as once you set them they stay there as the unit has a cover.
With all the equipment I have this setup gets used 99% of the time.

Hey Tony,
Zoom puts out a nice multieffects and reverb unit for about $90.00. Well worth the price. It's very compact as well. |
