Fender Vibrasonic
Hi Guys & Gals Love reading your comments and
questions. I have a Fender Vibrasonic that is
super clean looking and my tech. friend says
it has been used very litttle. In your oppinion is this a suitable amp for my Emmons
P/P? It has the original D-130F JBL (Orange)
magnet cover and i have the original cover & owners manual. Used to play a Peavey Nash. 400, but this amp is a lot different. So far
i like it ok, but should i consider a ss amp?
Appreciate any comments, opinions. Thanks

Only reason you should consider a SS amp is if you played through one and liked it better, IMO. I have a Vibrasonic myself and I think it sounds particularly good with my '66 Emmons. I also have a really nice stereo rack system but for some reason, but I tend to use that for another steel I have -the Emmons through the Vibra sound good to my ear. I also prefer the steel channel over the guitar channel. Some folks say the guitar has a warmer tone, but that's not necessarily the case with mine, and more importantly, it breaks up too easily for my tastes.
The JBL was not the original speaker with that amp, as far as I know. I'll bet yours sounds pretty dern good.

Thurlon, as you've already tried a Nashville, you should know the difference. I tried a Vibrasonic once during a showcase and found it quite nice, but not worth getting rid of either my Nashville nor my Evans. Try the Evans or Webb amps out as alternatives, you might really like them. There's tons more power than the Vibrasonic and much cleaner. Then again, if you're a tube nut....
