I agree that the GOO should be "new country" free, but, I love going and taking my kids anyway- just for the chance to see The Whites, Skaggs, Jim Ed, The Osborne Bro's, Connie Smith, etc. When we go and someone like Rascal Flats comes on stage, that's when I take my four girls to the restroom, or out for snacks. I guess what I am saying is, that it's still worth it to me to suffer through some of the new junk, to get to the good stuff. Now, about the ET Troubadore Theater... We love it! I've seen some of the best shows of my whole life there- for free! (or donation). If the general population would find out how great of a show they have, they wouldn't have enough room to hold everyone. Just my two cents worth.

Some junk is what others like. I myself like to see who I hear on the radio. Newer artist along with the Legend artist. The Opry should be a melting pot and I'm glad to see this. I agree, they need to lose Katie Image

Theresa--I agree with you. Our band tries to mix the old with the new but mostly new. We will play "Don't Rock the Jukebox" and "Neon Moon" but we also do "I Wanna Talk About Me" and "My Give A Damn's Busted". For tonights gig we will be doing "Kiss This" for the first time--on the original there isn't a steel but there is now and I'm having fun doing it. I'm 62 and still at it--you can't please all the people but you can sure try!!! Joe

Joe,
Go for it! The Opry should appeal to every age, like playing anywhere! Good to hear you're trying to please everyone you can.
Sounds like you are! Image

I have been to 48 states and a couple of dozen countries all because I'm a "dime a dozen" road picker. A life I choose not something someone forced me to do.

Hey guys, be kind to each other.

b0b's away and left me the keys to the shop.
I don't want to lock up anything.

Please stay on topic. The Opry's only a few hours from now. You'll have plenty of "On Topic" stuff to post about soon.

Peace,

Nope, I had a whole topic deleted, of course it was a real sarcastic take on a couple of people's repetative posts that I would have really regretted doing if it had stayed.

Nuff said.....
