Agreed, but my wife and I just got back from a vacation in Nashville, and try as they might, the new breed of creeps just can't completely paint over the good stuff. At Jim & Layla's Country Hillbilly Bluegrass Inn on Lower Broad we saw an awesome rockabilly/hillbilly singer named Slick Andrews with Earl Scruggs' grandson on guitar and biscuit-board steel, great twin-fiddle and steel Western swing with the Time Jumpers at the Station Inn,tons of great bluegrass, listened to the great Eddie Stubbs on WSM (now there's a country DJ for you!),and ate good barbecue at Hog Heaven and good greasy breakfast at the Hermitage Inn.I wouldn't p** on the new Grandoleopryland if it was on fire, but there still seems to be a lot of good music going on in Nashville. And don't miss Katy K's for all your Western wear needs.
