I'm going to 'cheat' and just tell you to check out Joe Wright's 'Technique Bundle'. It's just what the doctor ordered. He's listed on the Forum links page.

Alright, it's later now and I'm back. Try this out for size. The first 3 items are 'Finger-Thumb Crossover' exercises, both up the neck and across it. The fourth item is a 3 finger roll back and forth across the neck. I hope this works out.

1) This is the basic pattern used throughout.

2|---------------------------------------
3|---3-----------3-------3-----------3---
4|-----------3-------------------3-------
5|-------3-------------------3-----------
6|---------------------------------------
7|---------------------------------------
8|---------------------------------------
9|---------------------------------------

2) Basic pattern applied up the neck to a I-IV-V progression in G.

G C D G
2|-------------------------------------------------
3|--3-----3---3B------3B---5B------5B---6-------6--
4|------3-----------3------------5-----------6F----

Here's a lick I use to warm up with sometimes. My instructor that showed it to me used a different fingering, I don't remember what it was. This is the fingering I found to work best for me. You may want to try several variations. Just repeat over and over until you hand aches. I guess you could call it a crossover lick? Comments anyone?

Lots of good stuff here. Thanks for asking, Missy.

Also, if someone tries to tell you that running your fingers on a tread mill is good finger exercise, don't believe them. Ran mine 2 miles a day and it didn't help one bit.
