I am adding a knee lever to my U-12. I've never had the G# to F# lower on any of my guitars. Would a few of you tab some progressions that uses this lever? Maybe some patented Emmons uses?
Thanks
Dennis

It is wierd to be home on Saturday night....

A good example of the 6th string lowered from G# to F# is the Gene Watson song "Getting Over You Again" played by Buddy Emmons. Check out

http://www.buddyemmons.com/Watson.htm

This is the solo. I play the intro like the Buddy tab using the 2nd string lowering the D# to a C#. I am not detup to play this solo however. I use pedal 4 for the Paul Franklin string 5&6 whole tone lower. Too bad I can't play pedals 2 and 4 without playing 3. I just repeat the into instead of the solo.

Terry,
The G#-F# lower is the exact same lower used on that move in Hughey's intro to "Look at Us", except he uses it in conjunction with the AB chord to make it into a seventh.
(Dennis, see the discussion on the "look at us" intro)

Dennis,

I only have a couple of uses for the G#>F# change. Then again, I haven't been playing long. But I like the change, and use it a lot.

Lowering G#>F#, and E>Eb, gets you a V chord. Release both to resolve to the I chord.

If you can lower the B's to Bb, use that with the G#>F# lower to get a II7 chord. Again, release both for the I chord.

have fun,
Drew
