God Only Knows-E9th
So sad to lose Brian Wilson. His sound was timeless and touched us all. I will always love many Beach Boy tunes, but a top favorite has to be God Only Knows, sung by his brother Carl. Here's my tribute to Brian and the boys.

Thanks Chuck for posting the song again, probably one of my favorite songs of all time, and you did justice to it as always.
you always have a great ear for great songs.
Hope you are doing well! Your friend, Craig!

Thanks, Craig. Lots of our musical heroes are passing, so it is fitting to remember them in a song. Hope you are doing well.
Keep on keepin' on,

Re: God Only Knows-E9th
sounds great. having the actual Pet Sounds backing track really gives it an air of authenticity! so many Beach Boys backing tracks have been released which are works of art unto themselves.
I uploaded my take of Don't Talk over a decade ago, perhaps I'll try it again using the track to back me up. I've been playing through a lot of my favorite Brian Wilson tracks this past week, on both necks. he's been right at the top of my list for many years
don't miss Doug Livingston's Beach Boys Today! album medley:

also Surf's Up (the song)

Thanks, Scott. You're right-those Beach Boys backing tracks are works of art. Great to hear Doug's take on the Beach Boys tunes. He is a master player.

Thanks Scott for Doug's videos, Surfs Up is amazing, just saw Jeff Beck video doing the song with Brian's Band, of which I attended when they both toured, but I think Doug's rendition is equally or even better than that. Such a masterpiece of a song and a masterfull performance by Earnest!

I've been wanting to hear your version of this since we met in Dallas years ago and am not disappointed! Thanks so much for sharing. Before I last saw Brian in concert (2017), I told my wife, "Even if his voice starts to disappoint you, keep in mind that he almost singlehandedly created this music [Pet Sounds in its entirety] when he was half our age."

Jason, I agree, I'm so glad I went and saw Brian so many times and took my young kids at the time to see him.
I attended the tribute at Radio City Music Hall for him with an all-star cast of players, among them, Sir George Martin, it was an epic night.
My buddy got to see the original lineup of the BB's in Central Park in NYC, but I'm just happy to have seen him with his band who played all the songs exactly like the albums.
Rest in Peace Brian!
