digitized Jeff Newman instructional material?

Post by Jeremy Glasgow »

Has anyone ever digitized any of Jeff Newman's instructional materials? I've looked around a little but haven't found anything besides publication lists. I only ask because his print materials (books and DVDs) seem pretty hard to come by used and I've heard good things about his instruction. I'd happily purchase digital options if there's a legitimate route to get them.

Thanks y'all!

... and after debating it over and over again, we have come to believe that it is still protected under copy right.

Nevertheless, some of JN's full teaching videos start popping up on youTUBE and I feel that due to the abandonment by the JN-heirs, it will soon all have been blown into "public domain".

Jeff, besides having been an amazing and most tasteful musician and one of steel guitar's TRUE Entertainers and Showman, was a fantastic and most methodical teacher.
It's a shame his input and wisdom is not produced anymore or "freed" and instead is slowly disappearing.

I converted several of Jeff Newman's videotapes to digital (MP4) files, mainly so I could sell the courses I had lying around that I no longer use. It was a time-consuming process, but in the end, it all worked out. Since hardly anyone has a VHS player these days—except old guys like me—this was the only way to make the courses sellable.

The interface was made by a company called Roxy. It wasn’t too difficult to figure out, though it does have a few bugs you have to work around. I made sure not to duplicate the material for additional sales—just the one legitimate transfer. I gave the buyer both the digital files and the original videotapes, along with all the books and backup cassettes. I even digitized the backup tapes.
