Hilton hinge screw loosens

Post by Cody Coombs »

Hi all,

I have a Hilton volume pedal like the one in the picture shown. The hinge screw continues to loosen after a couple hours of playing. I have a Allen wrench on hand to tighten it back up. I would like to use some lock tight possibly, is there anything that would be better? I was wondering if a couple wraps of some pipe thread tape would do the trick.

Thanks,
Cody

You could use a thread locker like Loctite 242 Blue. You can get a small tube at Walmart for about $7. But what I usually do us take the screw and squeeze the threads a little with a pair of pliers (just before the end of the screw) and that binding created by the deformed threads serves as a self-locking device.
