John Fields of Peavey has asked me to inform everyone on the SGF they are now shipping their new preamp pedals as of today…this includes one for us steel players…the Peavey Session 400 LTD preamp pedal.

The stores I'm seeing that offer pre orders state won't actually be available until July. :?: 😐 Will any of the steel guitar vendors have them sooner?

Patrick,

This is not correct. You might want to edit your post.

The Bandit Teal Stripe pedal is now shipping.

The Session-LTD pedal is tenatively scheduled to start arriving in the US in late May or early June, but no firm date.

Believe me, I will be one of the first to know when these will be here as I have over 70 pre-sold.

Regards,
Bill

Thanks for the update info Bill. I'm not going to pre-order though. I'll wait for a bit and see how they go.

Still LOVING this pedal!!!!

My"Nashville Session"amp is with my Randy Travis tour stuff,so I'm using
the Session-LTD pedal with a Quilter TB202 and a Marrs cab with an Eminence
EPS-15C speaker...this is on some dates I'm doing this spring with the Marshall Tucker Band, and at the Local on West End in Nashville on Saturday nights...

I'm running the pedal as a preamp through the effects loop of the Quilter...

Sounds awesome and works flawlessly-I recommend it HIGHLY!!!!

Steve, have you tried it for any direct recording? I was wondering if it would work on its own, or need a cabinet IR for that. Thanks!

Troy,I've used it direct in my home studio for o/ds and it sounded great!
I've used IRs with the Kemper Profilers in the past and couldn't tell a huge difference...the jury is still out on them for me...I just ran the pedal straight into a UA Apollo that I use for a Pro Tools/computer interface...

Hope this helps...

Best,

Awesome! Thanks Steve, that's exactly what I was wondering, so that helps alot. That's how I'd be using it too, so it sounds like I need to get one! Thanks!

I wonder if any of these preamps could be used effectively for dobro in conjunction with the Fishman piezoelectric pickup?
“Effectively” as in a more versatile replacement for the Jerry Douglas Aura pedal?
Sierra S10 (three!), Peavey 112 and 115, Benoit dobro, Beard Model E dobro, Beard Roadophonic, MSA Superslide, Dean Nickless custom dobro

Doubtful as the Aura isn't a preamp. It's an imaging pedal, putting the dobro "essence" back into the signal chain after the pickup.
