Christmas Music
Where can I buy C6 Christmas music that is more than simple melody?

Secret Fires - The Gun Club
Curious if anyone could help me out with tabbing Secret Fires by The Gun Club in C6. I'm a beginner with steel and have written some tabs so far, but they were very melody-heavy which makes it easy. This song uses it in such an atmospheric way that I'm having trouble making out what is being played, but I love it and have wanted to record a full cover of all of the parts for a long time, so this would complete it! Thanks everyone!
New steelie and loving every step along the way! I play a Gretsch G5700 lap steel with lots of pedals. If you're into post-punk, new wave, etc. send me your tabs and videos!!

Here's a simple, straightforward chord melody arrangement of my favorite carol (and one of my favorite performances of it). Happy Holidays everyone!

Would anyone care for my version of Gymnopedie by Erik Satie? It would take me a bit to transcribe it but I haven’t done anything for this community yet and I would like to help where possible…. Just don’t know if anyone else really cares to play that or much classical on these instruments. Also, sure one of you could improve upon my efforts. It takes a bunch of slants and some fairly trying transitions for me. Full 3 fret chord forward slants to open string and single note drone lines to 3 fret back slants that then finish on the 3 fret forward shape again. Plus there’s some behind the bar bends in places. It’s a bit of a workout in a couple places. C6 tuning btw

Alright, will do. I’ll get on it today when I have a chance. I worked LATE last night and am in slow motion right now.Brynne Stevens wrote:Yes, that would sound beautiful!Shea Stevenson wrote:Would anyone care for my version of Gymnopedie by Erik Satie? Use to play in an EBM/Goth thing, like Sisters of Mercy. Well I put all the synths/drums together, wrote the music and sang.

Ok…. I think that did it… I would normally write it out but I figured for ease of reading I’d use a program. I had to try a couple things to make it work tho, regardless there’s a basic outline. It was hard to include all the little accoutrements like slides and vibrato but you play steel you know where it needs to happen.
The initial 2 chords are repeated several times as well as other sections. Despite the short cuts in some places tho that’s pretty close. I moved some of the intervals nearer or further a part to mimic the piano sounds… a couple aren’t in the right register really, there’s 1 in particular a couple measures before the ascending chords at the end that bothers me still but I did the best I could… anyways, now make it better and send it back!

Scans of old Hawaiian steel guitar music
Hello! I've had an account for a bit but haven't posted until now. I work at a music shop in Wisconsin and started playing lap steel recently, but a year or two ago we had a customer come in and donate a binder of Hawaiian steel guitar music. This is old stuff, I think the earliest copyright date is 1928!
Anyway, here's a link to the folder in my Drive with all of the scans; it should be "public to anyone with the link".

Cajun Tune "Madeleine" in DGDGBD
I don't really play yet, haven't done a tab before, and don't read music. I play by ear. The chord markers and beat markers are likely somewhat off.
Feedback welcome. Key of G. I don't think Cajuns generally use this particular tuning for their work. I was told they used BDGBDG.
