yes - they can actually do total noise cancellation (haven't tried that). in Transparency mode, there is a slider for how much outside noise to let in...
I haven't tested all that yet.
But Apple's Holiday return policy is that you have till January 15, so give it a go! _________________ https://www.lostsailorspdx.com

The thing I want to know is, how do they work as earplugs when playing with a band that has a loud stage volume? will they limit the overall DB? |
There is a "Loud Sound Reduction" function under Hearing Protection that can be used in conjunction with the Hearing Assistance (hearing aid) to limit loud noises. I've tested this and it seems to work quite well.
This is my first venture into the hearing aid world, but I'm pretty happy - especially with the cost. Less money for health = more money for guitars. Gotta keep your priorities straight ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

After trying different settings, combinations, etc. have found that a hearing aid in the left ear and Airpod in the right really works well. Added feature with the airpod is you can hear yourself singing much better, almost like a vocal monitor. _________________ Bowman SD10 push pull 3x5, Modified Hudson PedalBro, Sarno Tonic preamp, Evans FET 500. with Altec 418B, Standel Custom 15, '67 Showman with D-130F in cabinet, Ganz Straight Ahead, custom Wolfe 6 string dobro, '52 Gibson Century 6. |
