I hadn't seen or spoken to Wally in many years. He was an amazing player and always kind to me.

Sad news. Wally was one of my all-time favorites, who made Saturday afternoon at Scotty's a highlight. Wally certainly had speed, but what distinguished his playing for me was, emotional intensity, at any tempo.
