Anyone ever heard of this? The short article was in the October 1984 edition of Sheet Music Magazine. Let me know if you can read the article posted here, I'll try and take the photo again with higher resolution. Weldon Myrick, Terry Crisp and Hal Rugg supposed to be teachers. I've followed the Nashville steel guitar scene for many years, but never recalled this.

I remember seeing that Ad back in the day for that seminar type teaching situation; but I'm a TEXAN and didn't want to drive that far; when my next door neighbor was Tom Brumley..ah...ha..; but I of course really liked how and what those players like Weldon and Hal and Terry played...wow. too cool.

If I remember Jeff Newman was starting something like that.

Yes thanks guys for the response, I do remember Newman doing his courses in the early 1980s and having those jams, but this is something different. Hopefully Franklin or one of the other Nashville steelers will respond.

To the best of my knowledge this school never went beyond this ad... It was to be a copy of the Jeff Newman concept..Jeff's brainchild was the successful JEFFRAN college. He hosted week long classes for 10 plus pedal steel players back in the 70's...Buddy Emmons and I were brought in to teach classes for Jeff..Mostly Jeff taught there and then took the show on the road with either myself or Buddy..Jeff closed the college in the early 80's. Jeff then started his "Top Gun" approach for providing private lessons on a daily basis.. Top Gun ended when he passed...

Pretty sure I have some brochures and a personal note from Weldon as a result of me inquiring about their offering.
