Source for bender + 8-string roller bridge and nut?

Post by Per Berner »

Hello everybody!

At last I have found a bit of time to spend on my low-cost console steel project. It will (probably) be a traditional guitar shape and mostly made from parts that have been lying around unused for decades – a maple/walnut/maple lamination for the core of the body, a couple of nice mahogany "wings", some old PSG legs, old Schaller M6 tuners, leftover binding and so on.

Initially I planned for a regular 8-string, but I've come to the conclusion that I won't be happy without benders. Of course, this also necessitates a roller bridge and a roller nut. Going down the ideal Certano route means spending a lot more than I really want on this "leftover just for fun" project – that would add over 350 USD to the total cost.

Does anyone know of other sources? The bridge spacing must be no bigger than 67 mm (about 2 5/8"), dictated by my available pickup.

Hi George! The 0.390 bridge spacing is unfortunately a bit too wide (off by more than 3 mm), and I'm not overly keen on the 3D printed finish and the black color. But good to know if I build another one later on. Thanks!!
