Suggestions for a couple of gig bags on a budget that would fit a D10. I know some of you must be doing this.

May have occasion to drag out the old Fender Artist for a jam or two. No way can I handle it in the original case. Would need to split it up in two lighter weight bags and even that would be a challenge.

Thinking of 2 pcs. One for guitar and one for legs, bar etc.

Would like to find a main bag deep enough to add a pc. of 1/2 in. insul board to protect the top of the guitar. Those I'm seeing are not deep enough for the guitar let alone an extra 1/2 in.

I read some of the old posts, but some of those items mentioned are out of production.

Some of those hard SKB cases do look nice, but they're way out of my budget.

I have carts etc. but that doesn't help picking it up to load etc.

I used to own a set of Danny Bentley fiber cases but I foolishly let them go 'cause I thought I was done with pedal steels. 😩

Appreciate pertinent information and suggestions. Thanks.

Here's the one I use and have had it for almost 10 years>

And I use this to put legs and pedal bar in and lay it on top before zipping up bag>

very easy; great size fits in back of Jeep Compass and I open that back and build it right there and carry steel into gig.

Thanks Ricky. So this Gator bag is sturdy enough to handle the weight of a D10? Carry straps and zippers substantial? Is there any extra room in the height? Thanks again. JO.

I use the next one up. When I bought two of them years ago they were much less expensive. Now I'd have to think twice, but this is pretty much all I've used foe local gigs for the past ten years. They've held up well and have never let me down. For a S-10 you get the whole shebang in there.

Yes; Yes and Yes>
Also that is the newest one Dan just posted(looks like zip compartment now long enough to hold pedal bar and legs...yeeehaaa); that is what I'll get if this Gator case I've had for 10 years messes up; which 10 years is a proven value.

And if you do put the legs and pedal bar in a separate bag (really lightens the load!), this bag is a perfect fit Someone here suggested it last year, but I can't remember who it was.

Thanks for confirming quality Ricky.

Thanks DBMc, but that's way out of my budget. I'm looking for something about $100 or even less if I can find it. I'm looking at some used items right now that might fit my budget.

The whole idea of getting bags is to split up and lighten the load. Separate the legs, bar, rods etc. from the body.

Jerry, I agree that the higher rated Gator is too pricey now. But that second one I posted for the legs and pedal bar is about the best deal out there for a bag that's just the right size.

OK, I see now. I missed the link to the smaller bag earlier. Thanks.

That upgrade bag that Dan listed is the one I've been gigging for 5 years. It is like new as far as structure, straps, zips. And I haven't babied it.
6 lbs. And I put the legs, rods & pedal rack in a gun bag so as to wring every ounce of advantage out of this system.
If it got beamed up into another dimension and left me needing a case, I'd buy another one of these in a heartbeat.

$105 compared to $250 is a no brainer. So what is the difference?
Also it would be nice to find something narrower for a s10/s12
Also the hard pelican style cases are actually quite heavy. If you have a 12 kg psg the case is about half of that.

I’ve been looking for a case for an Emmons SKH D10. No luck so far so maybe these Gator bags are the way to go. I’m open to that option.

Question: When folded back up at disassembly a vertical KL on the Emmons sticks out below the cabinet’s depth. That’s not a problem when it’s disassembled and the steel is suspended in a regular case. Would it be a problem in a bag?

Thanx.
