Thanks to a forum member I have a copy of the extremely rare Eddie Alkire Steel Guitar Jazz record. Without a doubt, the best backing band Eddie recorded with and the some examples of the Eharp tuning in a master's hands. I'll be dropping them one by one over the next few weeks in this thread for those interested. Please check these recordings out. I find them really outstanding and unique.

First up: At Sundown

Thanks for posting these!

Along with the great music, I'm enjoying the artwork. That third one has a bit of a steampunk look.

Thanks Lee. If I have never heard these recordings, I'm figuring most haven't. They are quite amazing and unique. I'll be releasing all 12 recordings, one each day. And I'm having great fun having my friend A-lbert I-nstein create my crazy input. Wait until you see tomorrow's. I'm getting better at instructing A-lbert.

Thanks for posting these Bill! I love his playing. I watched your video of Stardust using Alkire and I am impressed with how much progress you made with the tuning. I think it may be hard for people to appreciate what a challenging/rewarding tuning this is.

Very cool.
I haven't done a deep dive ( or any dive! ) on Alkire's playing. I like his tone and phrasing, a bit Jules Ah See esque.
A 10 string Eharp showed up in a local shop here recently, looked intriguing.
The Alkire tuning is fascinating...
