Except for 1956 when a single was included in the stringmaster class. In 57 it was relabeled a deluxe.

Did fender make a 8 string stringmaster. ? |
Actually, Fender never called the single-neck guitars "Stringmasters". According to this Fender catalog page posted previously by Michael Lee Allen, it was a deluxe single neck Fender steel guitar with "many Stringmaster features".
You could have a Stringmaster with your choice of two or three (and for some years, four) 8-string necks.

Personally, I wouldn’t have done anything to that guitar. It’s in great shape for something over 50 years old. |

Thanks for posting that catalog page Russ. So, at least for that year, they called the single neck Deluxe 8 a String Master guitar. Interesting that they chose a picture of the discontinued 26" long scale as the two neck Stringmaster. Not unusual to see those kinds of inconsistencies in music catalogs. |

So now we can argue about the difference between String Master and Stringmaster! _________________ New FB Page: Lap Steel Licks And Stuff: https://www.facebook.com/groups/195394851800329 |
