I missed the show. I heard about it on the playground at school. (Same playground where I heard about the JFK assassination.)

It must have been '64 when I first saw them on TV. My parents owned a small hotel and TV's where not whitespread in the neighborhood but we had one. Guests came over to watch the news and there was a short report on the Beatles.
Oh how the elder folks where shocked!
I recall I was shocked also. Until a friend gave me a copy of Rock'n'Roll Music and suddenly I liked it.
There was also a man in the village, who provided jukeboxes with the latest chart singles and when they were worn out he sold them very cheap. I bought Misery/Ask Me Why from him. I believe that's the first of their records I ever bought.
My parents had a rather large collection of German Schlagers and there was some good stuff to be listened to also.
Oh memories Smile

I remember it well. I was a 14 year old wannabe guitarist at the time, and I watched all three of the shows (three consecutive weekends).

Some interesting trivia: Brain Epstein agreed to Ed Sullivan's offer of $7000 (plus hotel accommodations) for the two New York shows and $3000 for the Miami show. Epstein was more concerned with getting The Beatles on the top entertainment show in the USA than a big payday.

7 years old, playing in my room. My mother called us in to the living room to see the "beetles on tv". I remember thinking, why does she want us to see some bugs on the tv? I got a Sears silver tone electric guitar for Christmas that year. So began my musical journey!
