Steel Guitar Union Hall and Equipment Exchange: Facebook
Introducing a new Facebook group dedicated to promoting Steel guitarists: Steel Guitar Union Hall and Equipment Exchange.
Inspired by the tales my father in law used to tell about going to the Union Hall every weds for gigs, it will hopefully act as a place to promote your upcoming gigs, promote your availability, Promote yourself as a Teacher, Sell Equipment, Find a Steel Guitarist, and Find a teacher.
Here are the basic rules:
1. Promote your upcoming gigs: provide date, time, venue, city, state, country location.
2. Promote your availability: Post a publicity shot, genres, resume, location you are open to play.
3. Promote yourself as a Teacher, either local or zoom lessons. Include rate and a description of your teaching methods.
4. Sell steel related instruments, amps, and accessories. In order to cut down on scam posts, you must include at least one picture that has a sign that reads "Steel Guitar Union Hall" some where in the picture. That is to prevent people from ripping off old reverb or SGF sale pictures.
5. Find a Steel guitarist for your next event or band
6. Find a teacher.
Let's see how it goes and if there is interest. Those wishing to join can do so here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1069629560980782

The focus of this group will be live performance. We encourage those of you who want to share your live performances of either Pedal or non-pedal steel to join us and upload your videos.
It doesn't matter if it is for an audience of thousands or a group of friends, an auditorium or nursing home. As long as it is live, we want to see it.
One of the goals of the group will be to be a repository of tips and tricks for live performance, finding gigs, getting your best sound, or even tales from the road.
Whether you are a gigging performer or aspire to be, I hope you'll join the group.

Lee,
It is a public group so visible to anyone on facebook but only members can post. I am not sure you can see it if you don't have a facebook membership, but it is visible to the 2 billion daily facebook users. We are close to 50 members already
