2024 Band-in-a-Box, or BiaB for short, is released. Here is an eight minute video overview of the new features: https://youtu.be/48LFeCXDw3w?feature=shared

Forum member Doug Jernigan is a featured RealTracks artist in RealTracks Set 447, Vintage Country. A video for the RealTracks set is here: https://youtu.be/5OfqgftM5GE?feature=shared

I just upgraded from 2022 UltraPak. Look forward to checking it out.
I did notice that it said a free Bonus Pak would be included but they wanted $49 for it at checkout, unless I'm missing something.

Hi Mike,

There are two Bonus PAKs. The 0 Bonus PAK is free and included with the Ultra PAK. The 49 Bonus PAK is optional and costs $49 US.

The PG Music Bonus PAKs webpage, https://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.bonuspaks_2024.htm says the 0 Bonus PAK includes: RealCombos Booster PAK 3, along with Look Ma! More MIDI 11: SynthMaster, Instrumental Studies Set 20: New Orleans Piano, MIDI SuperTracks Set 40: More SynthMaster, MIDI SuperTracks Set 43: Rock & Pop Keys, Artist Performance Set 15: Songs with Vocals Volume 5, Playable RealTracks Set 3, Playable RealDrums Set 2, RealDrums Stems Set 6, 829 Custom MIDI Tracks with audio demos, and audio demos (M4A) for the 209 Melodists and 360 MIDI Soloists.

If you look at your online account you may see the 0 Bonus PAK as a downloadable file. Also you should contact PG Music support by telephone or chat and ask them to verify you have the 0 Bonus PAK.

I downloaded BIAB 2023 from Sweetwater and installed yesterday. I finally graduated from SoundTrek Jammer, which was a fantastic program for its time, but this… jeeez… I doodled around with some very basic blues patterns today, and the sound is just incredible. I might have to fire both the bands I’m in. Very impressive!

I can see that a lot of the basic programming is going to be pretty familiar, but there are bells and whistles to the end of time on this. As a rookie user, I am curious to know what features long time veterans use the most. Maybe a topic for a new post, but what the heck. Mike, Jim? Care to offer any suggestion?

I have an ancient (2007) version of BIAB. I use it mainly for practice tracks, and it’s OK for that. It’s obviously come a long way since then. Based on seeing the instruments on separate lines in the window, does that allow you to record those separate lines to different tracks on a recorder?

Roger,

Just render the song to a wav file and you'll end up with each instrument on a separate track, plus one track with all the instruments. You can then import them into a DAW. Real easy to do. I do it all the time, but lately I've been doing more MIDI programming my own drum parts. I use a combination of a lot of tools to record my stuff. If I can help, let me know.

Hi Fred, A few years ago my wife bought Band-in-a-Box from Sweetwater. She waited until there was a new release and purchased the prior release at a pretty good discount. That's a good way to get started with Band-in-a-Box.

When you're first starting with Band-in-a-Box the Rick Campbell "Band-in-a-Box Made Easy" video tutorials are a great place to start. Here is a link to download the files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/di2r3q11ls92sqz/Rick%20Campbell%20BIAB%20tutorial%20video.zip?dl=0. And this page has a description about how to use the files: https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=216747&start=75
