Tommy Oliver a great Steel guitarist from The Muscle Shoals Al.area passed away on Dec 20th I was blessed to call him friend and tour with him.
Tommy's obituary,
We ask that you remember the family of Tommy Richard Oliver, age 75, of Muscle Shoals, who passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at his residence.
Tommy was the most talented man who could play almost any instrument, but especially the pedal steel guitar. He was one of the smartest men you could meet, and he was always willing to help anyone, never asking for anything in return. He could fix just about anything. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and loved his family more than anything.
He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Ray Oliver; parents, Travis & Hazel (Tuberville) Oliver; grandparents; brother, Dewayne Oliver; and brother-in-law, Charlie Welch.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 57 years, Sherron Kay Bohannon Oliver; sons, Gary Oliver (Kimberly), Randall Oliver (Janice); grandchildren, Kendra Oliver, Tasha Oliver, Caleb Oliver; great-grandchildren, Brinley Higgins, Kendan Higgins; siblings, Mitchell Oliver (Denise), Linda Welch, Sheila Rogers, Steve Oliver (Sandy); and several nieces & nephews.
The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Tom Johnson speaking at the service. The burial will be at Belgreen Cemetery.
