once upon a time in the west

Hi All I really wanted an Ebow when I heard Buddy play this song. Never got one but I did my best. Mike & I recorded this in one take both of us playing in to a Reel to Reel. Dave :D https://soundcloud.com/user-627782904/o ... n-the-west

I was mesmerized when I seen Buddy play this and the chills flowed through my veins. I already owned an Ebow from my guitar days but I was unable to duplicate that sound and playing. I only recently renewed my interest in this beautiful haunting tune and played it without the Ebow much like you have. I have to confess you did a much better more accurate job than I. Splendid work David.

Hi Larry it's a song I will revisit one day. One of my electronics projects is to make an Ebow. I have the schematics for it. That will be after my stereo volume pedal and digital switching for pick ups & amp channels on the guitar. At the moment my George L's pickup wires are just twisted together. (soldering iron is buried in the shed. And as you know I am not allowed to play until the house is finished) Dave

David, that would be a cool thing to build. I played my Taylor 814ce acoustic 3k guitar for a year with the pickup wires taped to the top. I was experimenting with better quality pickups prior to installing. My friends would laugh about it. I found what I wanted and did a proper install. The factory system was terrible. You definitely get a free pass for taped wires and no tool shed time. House comes first. (Well maybe).

Very well played, David. You're aiming at a pretty high bar, covering that tune.

Excellent!
