Ron, Steven, and Terry, thanks for the nice comments about this Super Pro, it's really in great shape. I prefer the wood neck models like this one.

Steven - not really looking for trades at the moment, but if this Bud is still available in a week, I would consider a nice lacquer D-10 Derby in trade.. Smile

Have a nice day.

Thanks JR. I just had the opportunity to visit the new Emmons store. Very nice setup, and Kelcey and Darrin couldn’t have been any friendlier. 👍

Now we just need Sho~Bud to get a new start!!

Is that not considered Jackson Guitars? Perhaps no...

Yes that certainly is what "Jackson" is and also "Show Pro"; they are the new-age Modern "All-Pull Sho~bud"; just like what Emmons did in making a new-age Modern "Push-Pull Emmons". It's just "Sho~Bud" lost their name to Gretsch.

Ricky, I was mentioning Sho~Bud because of this ad and I happened to be at the new Emmons store, meeting some folks to pickup a '75 LDG.

So the thought occurred, what if the Sho~Bud name and and emblem resurfaced with a company with similiar ideas as the new Emmons Co.?

Like the only models built would be based on the '73, (early '74) LDG's, Pro II's and 6139's.

So true to the original design, with a few modern updates, such as split tuning?

Like the Resound 65 Emmons has developed, it could be the 73 LDG for the new Sho~Buds, etc...

Just a thinking out loud..

Yes Mike; me and my student James Morehead designed just that Re-model-LDG and we were going to call it the "R&J. But James passed away early; so I let it go. But yes it was going to have Original designed and made casted endplates and keyheads and very important casted parts that the fingers move in and out of with 6061 aluminum. But I can't Buy the SHO~BUD name which doesn't matter; but I know exactly every part that made the first year LDG have that sound; but I let it go on to steel guitar heaven with James and now there is only a handful of us that know all that info(like the way the Emmons folks do; with the new resound.

Ricky, it's a shame James left too early to finish this dream/vision you two had. I imagine Gretch still owns the rights to the name and logo, and they would require a pretty penny to acquire it.

But if that day ever does arrive, I believe you would be the one to guide and consult with on all info related to the 73/early 74 Sho~Bud design and build. Smile

Thanks Mike; but something that still interests me more than creating a new LDG; is what I still do with "Restoration". I LOVE taking a old Sho~bud that has become worn-out; cruddy; unplayable and making it exactly what I should currently be today underneath the players hands and life goes on. That has always been my mission and will always be, now that I'm in my 60's and just play and record and work on Sho~bud's; Life is complete for me.

That's great Ricky, you are the Sho~Bud go-to guy and there are many, many players who are thrilled with the restoration work you have done and continue to do.

I'm hitting 60 at the end of the year, and realize it's nice to get to a content place in life and enjoy it for all that each day offers.

I'ts nice to hear you are doing what you love and enjoying every minute of it!

Take Care, gotta go, just hit Exit 109... Very Happy
