I started fooling with this shortly after hearing the great job that Jonathan Reynolds did with it on E9th… I’d played this off and on since I was a kid, but thought maybe I should try it on C6th… I started doing it as a medley with Open My Eyes That I Might See, and was going to doing them both in E9th and then C6th, but didn’t like how it was turning out, but loved the chord voicing in Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus… So I did it a-cappella and put the chords on the video I came up with… Sorry its in Db, but thats where it started as the key change part of the medley I’d originally planed on… After a-cappella I play it to the track I wrote for it.
Below are the chords from the track I played to (I'll have to upload a bit later)… I said it was a ReHarmonization, but truthfully I don’t know enough about music to say that with a lot of confidence… But I think I mostly played the melody at least.

| Hi Dale You won't know unless you try! I have been inspired by quite a few musicians at different churches. Except a young Tuba player at my wife's church Carol service. Either he can't read music or he has it upside down! I agree with you about C6th I have avoided it for a long time and only just started to get to grips with it. also managing to use a mix of the C6th and E9th side of the Uni. Only Two more years to retirement then I can play all day! Dave |

That's the truth David... One time when I was a kid, we did a concert in a large Church that was having an Evangelistic Series... The Speaker who was pretty conservative walked past my Pro lll and saw the fretboard with all 4 Card Suites on it and you could see him gently shake head and take a deep breath. Like I wasn't nervous enough LOL... anyhow after he heard us play, he came up to us and said "You guys can play for me ANY Time"
I think if I was a younger man (67 shortly) I'd look pretty hard at Johnny's D13 tuning, but of course I'd need a Johnny brain transplant as well. I think he's a musical genius.
You'll enjoy the extra "practice" time... I'm playing more now than I ever have, though sometimes its still difficult to find time or inspiration with all the yard work in our new home since we moved.

| Hi Dale I am half way through renovating our house as well as working. the Gardens a year away at least. The good thing about retiring is I get my recording desk back. I made a Beech desk six feet long that has my stereo amps underneath, Keyboard pull out draws, double screen stands. My wife used to work one day a week from home. Then Covid struck now she is Full time at home using my desk! I am stuck in the corner of the room. My screen fixed to the wall and a 8"x10"x30" Beech unit that houses my PC and Focusrite Scarlett. I made a tray that slides on to my office chair arms that takes the PC keyboard & Mouse for mixing. Good job us musicians can improvise.Dave |

I've always had a place where I was comfortable playing, but recording requires a little different arrangement, at least for me. So when we moved across the state one of the first things I did was to arrange everything else around where I would play and record. So bought the biggest VariDesk I could find and spread it far enough so I was able to attach an 8'x4' top on it, which gives me plenty of room for Studio Monitors and Computers and knickknacks... when I'm done recording and tired of sitting I move the guitar out of the way and either sit in an office chair or raise the desk where I can stand to edit. Maybe not perfect, but I love this little corner of heaven.

This is the least crowded I've been ... I like EVERYTHING right there but hate feeling crowded too. Still seems like every time I move just one thing then all of it feels cluttered.
As for wearing "cans" I love them, but have ringing in my ears all the time, from working in noisy environments my whole life even though I religiously wore earplugs. And wearing headphones now just increases the ringing for several days after, so I just don't use them anymore, but wish I could.
