Topic: Sidecar for effects and tuner wanted |

I need a platform for tuner and stompboxes to hang off the changer-side legs of my Mullen steel. Rather than reinventing the wheel, I bet someone here has already built that and hopefully has one they can sell me. Anyone have leads on that? TIA

Interesting setup, Larry! I need a flat platform, ideally hanging onto steel legs by gravity, I've seen that somewhere. I want an effect pedal and tuner on top, and a power strip underneath. My hunt continues...

| Tx Jon. For anything bigger than a single effects pedal, I'd use two of those Sho-pro leg clamps, on for each leg. Some rivets, angle and sheet aluminum - Not to complicated really. |

Hi John,
Here are a couple pictures of a little outboard I lashed up that I use all the time. Quite simple and I think the pictures are pretty self explanatory. The nice thing is it just slips over the legs and wedges securely in place without needing to tighten any fasteners. Gravity does the job quite well. Pops right out when your done. Maybe you could try making something like this?

Hi Jim. Yes, the brackets that fit against the legs of the steel are angled. This makes it so the whole unit hooks itself inward against the legs with the downward gravitational forse. If you get the angle of the brackets the same as legs on the guitar, you will get a very snug fit in place yet easily removable if you lift it straight up. Simple but very effective.  |

It may just be this thread, Mark, but comments aren't auto line-breaking like normal, you have to scroll horizontally to read a longer comment. I blame you! 
I like your design, I've been planning to craft the angled bracket that lodges itself to guitar legs with a metal bracket, same way Bessdang Gizmos did it, but maybe wood is a little easier to craft?

I have my pedals (MXR & MXR mini) in the sidecar of my steelers choice seat.
They live there & don't ever move.
The regular MXR size pedal fits perfectly & stays in place. The other pedals (mini sizes) are plugged in on either side of the regular size MXR & stay put.
