Hi guys,
I'll bet someone here has some idea about where to get clear red 1/4" thick plastic to make replacement buttons for this beautiful Magnatone lap steel?
If not the plastic, maybe what kind of red dyed cement to glue up two 1/8" parts from clear plastic to get the same effect?

Someone replaced the tuners on the right side with a mis-matched set. Can't have that.

I posted about this guitar on another page; https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=3142788#3142788

Thanks for any help any of you could offer. Very Happy

Andy it looks like red Lucite (acrylic) ... if you can find some bar stock you could form them down.I just did some quick research and it comes up a lot in jewelry and home decor. I hope this helps
thanks

Thanks to Barry & Wayne,
I found a sheet of Acrylic Clear Red 12" X 12" X 1/4" on Amazon for $14.99 and it will arrive on Monday.
That should be enough to make dozens of tuner buttons.
That along with the tuners I ordered, Problem solved!
Thanks for the ideas,
Andy Very Happy

Got the Acrylic Clear Red plastic and the clear red color is a perfect match. Very Happy

Think I may have to get the right replacement tuning machines from StewMac at their high prices. They have Klusons that work on older Gibsons and other US name brands so my guess is they will fit where the Chinese tuning machines ones don't.

Thanks Barry,
Those are not the ones I needed. They are not slotted in the top of the posts.
Also most are spaced 1&3/8" and I need the rare ones that are 1&1/2" spacing.
I did get a set with the same style buttons but they are clear, not red and they are also 1&3/8".
If nothing turns up I may have to put the guitar on my new milling machine and elongate the two outer post holes by 1/8" each.
If that would leave a small gap showing I'd have to use a small chrome washer under the bushing to hide what I'd done???
Thanks,
Andy Very Happy
