First off, let it be known that, I'm not a writer or poet. I am just a guy that loves Steel Guitars. I got to thinking about all the greats that have passed on including Mr. Emmons and came up with this.

Steel Guitars In Heaven

I hope there are steel guitars in heaven, built of the finest materials known to God. Wood that rings of heavenly vibrations with metals made from the hands of Mighty God.
There's so many "Greats" that have passed on: Jerry, Jimmy, Hal and now "Big E." It would be so sad for these great players if there were no Steel Guitars to play for He.
When "Papa" John passed I was sad,to think that he would never put on his picks and play again. But why would God have such a heavenly sound on Earth and not in Heaven for all eternity?

If anyone take offense to these words, I will delete this post.

Thanks,
Billy

Great post Billy. If you delete it, I might be offended. Who knows. . . The Lord might be also.

no offence here Billy....

God has given man so much here on earth

when we get to heaven I think he has things that

we can expect of goodness and his love

music I think will be there as well after all

God made all things!!

mike Very Happy

Billy, you sure don't need to delete it on MY account. What somebody else believes does not offend me in the least, whether it is the same as or the opposite of what I believe.

I WILL note one irony. The slightest mention of what a poor job any politician is doing is instantly met with disapproval, and reminders that this forum is about steel music, and our personal beliefs are not appropriate. But the slightest mention of religion seems to generate a flood of testimonials - personal beliefs on religion apparently ARE allowed.

I wrote this in 2015 when I heard that John “Popa” Hughey passed away . May the almighty Bless Bobby. And thank you Bobby for creating this wonderful Forum.
