I’m deeply saddened to hear this news. I was waiting to hear from George as I had just recently moved back home to Tennessee. Tammy and I were looking forward to having dinner with both, George and Connie at our favorite restaurant in Pigeon Forge. My sincerest of condolences to George’s family and his special friend, Connie. May George rest in peace. Here is a link to George’s obituary.

Oh no. I'm seriously shocked by this tragedy. I had several conversations with George and we shared a common bond looking for better tone. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed.

Thanks for posting this Dale. I had not heard. I met George at Jeffran College in April 1980. We were in the same intermediate level class.

Nice fellow, good player. RIP Geroge. Condolences to the family and friends.

George lived near where I live, and we got together a few times. Did some trading, played some tunes. He's actually the only other steel guitar player who has been over to the house. Anyway, good guy. Hate to hear of his passing. RIP George.

George was a good guy. Not only a great musician, but a master craftsman. He built stage illusions for magicians, and was very respected in that field also.

RIP my friend,

RC

I am so sorry to hear of George's passing. I met George one time when I sold him an amplifier. What a nice guy! We ate lunch together at The Moose Cafe in Asheville, NC. We talked on the phone and messaged one another. It was my pleasure getting acquainted with George and Connie. Connie, my condolences to you, sweet lady! May the Lord speak a peace which passes all understanding. RIP George.

Dale thanks for letting us know. This was a shock as he was wanting to meet up and try out my Quilter amp. He was one of the few East Tn steel players that are left. Great guy and always enjoyed the conversations I had with him. RIP

I sure hated to hear about George's passing. I always enjoyed talking to him and seeing things he would build for steel players. Prayers for his family.

Wow Tony, same for me.

I sold George an amp and we met at the Daniel Boone Inn, twice. George was as kind as they come.

Sincerest condolences to his family.
