"I was at that meeting in Texas and ordered a Resound immediately. I've been playing it for about half a year. It's an absolutely astonishing steel. The sound has it. That clear as a bell shimmer along with perfectly focused mids and lows. The elusive quality is the visceral response the 65 has. It directly responds to touch in a way that I have only experienced with perfectly set up PP steels and a couple Franklin's I used to play. I ordered a red one because I thought it would look cool on stage."

Well said, Bob. I didn't post photos of my ReSound 65. It is black, like Mark Robinson's as posted above.

Kelcey and Mark were present when I took delivery. I felt the pedals and levers, strummed a few chords, then started noodling. There are a few songs I play when I warm up or sit behind a steel for the first time. I started playing them, along with my requisite clams. I looked up after a few minutes and saw Kelcey and Mark smiling. I realized that I had fallen into one of those Zen moments that only occur when everything is just right.

I had a very nice 1970 cuttail at that time. It was expertly set up, and played as well as practically any all pull steel you will find. It sounded great. I no longer have that steel. It needs to be played.

Jim, it was such a pleasure to meet you and to watch as your guitar was set up for the first time. I was very fortunate to be on that trip and met several of the incredible musicians in Texas and Louisiana.

Your description of having “fallen into one of those Zen moments that only occur when everything is just right” is spot on. It’s extremely satisfying when everything comes together with this beautiful instrument.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I’m enjoying mine, and I trust that it’ll bring you years of reliability.

Boeing has built 14. 787 Airplanes in the last 30 days.
No Emmons shows to be built in the last 30 days on the WIP list.
Do not fly on a 787 Airplane. The Quality control is not up to the Emmons standards.

I should be getting my Emmons Resound 65 very soon.
Will post photo when it arrives.
Red SD10 should be a sharp looking steel.

Could someone post pics of the underside of the Resound? Big clear pics suitable for close ups?

#18 has been built . I am #19 on build list. So the wait is almost over. Should be getting my Emmons very soon now.
Looking forward to sitting down to play it.
I hope the tone is worth the wait.

This finally showed up last week. Well worth the wait. Kelcey and Darin were kind enough to humor my desire for something unique and I think it turned out beautifully. Initially I was in shock having a brand new Emmons but as I get used to it and set to my specs I think it sounds and plays incredibly well, better than any other push pulls I've owned. Can't wait to play out with it and excited to see other guitars and colors. if you buy one you will not be sorry.

There was a problem with wire quality with a pin in my changer finger on my prototype. Rather than have me monkey around with it or ship the steel Kelcey flew to Austin to rebuild the changer. Then he drove up to Dallas to rebuild a guitar there that potentially had the same issues. The new Emmons company lives or dies based on the quality of their guitars. They spare no expense and cut no corners. Not only is Kelcey taking the original Buddy Emmons design into our world he is a good guy and a great hang !

I ordered another one and this time I want sperzel tuners and humbucking pickups. I think the original style looks the coolest but Sperzels should be a bit more precise when I deal with microtonal music. Also the pickups already in the new Emmons are fantastic but sometimes find myself in situations when humbuckers are needed.
