for thumbpick I use https://blackmountainpicks.com/, which are both sized and spring loaded.
My fingerpicks on the other hand, need to be bent further. Is the blade meant to completely follow the curvature of your fingertip? I guess more close-up finger pictures would help this newbie. |

Beeswax and/or pine rosin/tar might appeal more than saliva. Thinking along the lines of a bowstring (archery) or fly-tying wax. |

I usually just ask the fiddle player if I can see his rosin for a second |

A little bit on all three fingers… before putting picks on… does wonders.
I won’t be without it… ever!

Lots of good tips here. As we age, we lose a substance on our fingers that gives them "tack". Do you go to pick up something, Maybe your car keys and send them flying across the room? I was reluctant to take needle nose pliers to my picks but it really does work. Even our index and third finger picks require slightly different shaping and it's trial and error till you get them just right. For instance, when you pull the tops outward, it may cause the area below one of the holes to dig in and you have to correct that. I fought this problem for a long time. The needle nose method combined with finger nail polish on the inside is a sure fire fix for me. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Harlow Dobro |

Is it the years of age or This Dang COVID again. Using those hand sanitizers has changed my hands quite a bit. I have used a lot of Working Hands and Bag Balm to keep my hands in better shape. |

Spit doesn't work for me, Liquid Rosin works for me . You have to pry the picks off . |
