Topic: Multikord cable replacements |

| Not sure where to post this. Put I'm looking to replace cables to pedals on Multikord. Any ideas, thinking bike brake cables, if they'd be strong enough. Looked on the internet and can't find replacements. |

| I remember replacing Fender cables with picture-hanging wire. I believe the same thing would work for a Multi-Kord. |

I had mine made to order for the correct length by Mc Master-Carr about 8 yrs ago.

Any aircraft repair shop should have it. |

| My friend Dave uses bicycle cables which already has an end on it that you can file down a little and make it round. They seem to be strong and last a long time. He’s never had problems with them breaking. You can get them at any bike shop |

Correct! I've used this on a few Multi-Kords and kept a roll of it in the shop when I was servicing/modding/Fenders. Now I use 1/16" stainless steel cable (needs completely different flux and solder - and a LOT more heat (i.e. a small torch)!
One note - old cables with failed solder joints generally need new cable - it's very, very difficult to clean old cables and re-solder them. And the solder and flux must both be lead-free; lead-type electrical solder will not hold up.

| You’re sure right about that Jim. I ordered a roll of SS 1/16” from Amazon and it’s way tougher to work with than the stuff I got from Lowes which soldered real easy. |
