Has anyone put a BL-712 Bill Lawrence in any guitar?
Let me know your experience. I appreciate the responses. _________________ Just north of the Weird place, south of Georgetown |

Hello Roy
I like the XR-16 myself.
There is a Micky Addams video where he compares most PUs. _________________ MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.

Me too. I put an XR-16 in a Mullen SD12 and have one on the E9 neck of my Carter D10. Both were wired to switch that switched it from humbucker to single coil. I have a 710 on C6. I imagine the 712 would be good in any guitar. Of course, pickup choice is a personal preference. What one person might love, another might hate. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, NV400, NV112 . Playing for 54 years and still counting. |

Many years ago, I put a 712 in my pre-Royal Precision Mullen U-12. It sounded great.
Keep in mind the 710/712 pickups may not get along with an impedance matching device / buffer / powered volume pedal, etc.
It's my understanding that those pickups were designed to match and work well with old fashioned pot pedals. _________________ Lee, from South Texas - Down On The Rio Grande

Thanks Gents for the comments, I am looking for something a little bit less harsh (more mellow) than the stock pickup in my RP. I have a BL710 in my G2 and like it in that guitar.
Just wondering what the difference is between BL710 and BL712.
Thanks again. _________________ Just north of the Weird place, south of Georgetown |

I believe the 710 is for 10-string guitars and the 712 is for 12-string guitars. |

Correcto-mundo.
I've been using 710's with active volume pedals (Hilton and Goodrich LDR2) for decades with no issues. No different than with a Goodrich 120 pot pedal. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, NV400, NV112 . Playing for 54 years and still counting. |
