Hot off the press, Penny sings our new humanist love ballad along with alto sax, harmonica, and pedal steel features.
Note that at almost 7 years in, I still cheat like hell when recording my steel playing (I record up to speed, but with many, many punch-ins). The good news is that with each passing year it gets easier to find what I'm looking for on the axe, and the punch-ins fewer.
If you do take the time to listen, I thank you in advance! Honest feedback sincerely appreciated...

Slim, I'm VERY impressed.
I liked the transition from harmonica to sax. Great job with the punch-ins as there is no difference in volume level or tone. This is a well recorded and mixed song. Penny is easy to listen to. One minor complaint ... you didn't list who played the acoustic bass.
If you don't mind sharing some details, how long from start to finish on this song project? _________________ Remembering Harold Fogle (1945-1999) Pedal Steel Player

Thanks Roy and Jim, much appreciated!
Jim: Thanks for catching my mistake on the credits, fixed now (it's Penny on Double Bass).
As for how long it took start to finish... well I work very slowly. I began by working on scratch tracks back in early November, gradually replacing them with the real stuff over a couple of months, and then spent a week or so on mixdown, final mix tweaks happened on January 29. So, about 3 months total, which is typical for me, but I've always got other stuff going on as well, maybe averaging 1-2 hours per day on a particular tune. _________________ Chromatic Harmonica, Guitar, and Pedal Steel (Williams U12 Series 700, Emmons lap)

I appreciate the reply. I see from your website that you and Penny have been publishing great songs and that you are not newcomers to recording. You do excellent work.
Your three month estimate is reassuring. It's easy to think song projects drag on for too long. _________________ Remembering Harold Fogle (1945-1999) Pedal Steel Player
