Topic: Need an MSA worked on - know of anyone in the Austin area? |

I've inherited an MSA after a dear friend passed and have now idea how to set it up for my copendent. It also will need some general maintenance. Can anyone recommend a tech for MSA steels in the Austin area?

| Memphislim here on the forum lives very near Austin, gigs there weekly and is an excellent steel mechanic. I know he takes in repair work from time to time. |

Earning a multi-six-figure income (a requirement for living in Austin with any kind of lifestyle) allows you to have many perks. Those musicians who purchased their homes before 1990 breathe easier and now only have to worry about how to pay their exorbitant property taxes. Just sayin'...

If it were me, I would approach Johnny Cox. He worked for MSA, and has forgotten more pedal steel than most people will ever learn…just sayin!

And then the skyrocketing increases in premiums for homeowners' insurance.

I lived 30 miles northwest of Austin in Williamson county and the taxes and home prices were outrageous even that far out. I couldn't wait to get out of that mess so I retired 4 1/2 years ago and bought a ranch in northeast Texas and LOVE it. I did make some good money in the Austin area though, but not in the music business.

Recently added a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored blue Rose, named the "Blue Bird" to the herd. Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks. |
