interesting spin on the harpeleik which is a chord zither. guy removed all the tuning pegs on the face of the instrument where there are higher pitched strings and he plays it like a lap steel. the higher pitched strings are not needed as you can play those with the bar.

would like to hear something other than the chainsaw sounding rock stuff, but i thought his concept was interesting. fret markers would be a plus if needed. looks like he has a pickup for each group of strings.

That would give you a LOT more options for alternate tunings in one instrument!
