"Ruby" is the name that Mike Scaggs gave this guitar. I was the original owner, and the guitar is a "masterpiece".

Mikes workmanship is outstanding.

Thanks fellers, yes this is the original Ruby. I may keep her and save up for a new Emmons. Can’t have too many guitars.

As the owner of “Rosalee”, the Mike Scaggs rosewood D10, I can attest that these are special guitars and I continue to be in awe of mine. Best of luck in the sale (or non-sale) of the guitar Bobby!

I think Daymon LaPoint still has it but I could be wrong. I thought he still had Brownie but I guess not.

Didn’t realize you had Brownie! That’s a beauty as well. Smile

James Blonde is in Baton Rogue, belongs to Billy Tam. Have done some work on it. Sounds great.

I was very blessed to have owned Brownie (Mark Greenway owns), James Blonde (Billy Tams owns) and Rosalee (Rick Heins owns). Incredible Guitars, and meticulous workmanship by Mike Scaggs. I'm working (ever so slightly) on getting James Blonde back now. And if I'm lucky, Mark Greenway will un-ass Brownie soon and allow me to buy him back! lol.
Here's a picture of all the 3 siblings together.

I understand that Mike only restored five (5) Emmons to this level of restoration… that is, a 100% tear-down and rebuild… and also, that Layla was the last he planned to do.

I was lucky to latch on to Layla. It’s super! Classic, killer Push-pull tone and silky smooth mechanics… and gorgeous.

Thanks, Mike Scaggs!
