Update: I've managed to record a full demo of the arrangement, using tuba, marching band drums and cymbalom!

I’ve always had in the back of my mind to tackle some of the Ragtime and stride repertoire, and while I am interested in arranging some of the more obscure pieces by composers from different eras, there is no escaping the greatest rag of all, Maple Leaf Rag.

I am dedicating myself to this music, as it brings me great joy to play it and what was old becomes new when you bring it into the steel guitar realm. Scott Joplin was very particular about the way he liked his music played, and let me tell you, this ain’t it. But this how I play it and I’ve taken a few liberties with it.

Well taken liberties!

Incredible playing, as usual.

I hope to include this and other ragtime arrangements on my next record, but with a live band.
