Clean, all-tube amp built with Fender's original blackface AB763 Twin Reverb circuit. Includes footswitch, cover, removable casters, and a couple of upgrades as follows:

Excellent MESA tube set throughout.

OEM Eminence 4 ohm "Special Design" 15" speaker has been replaced with a 4 ohm JBL K130, improving efficiency and response while reducing weight by several pounds.

Molded plastic reverb cable set has been replaced with a vintage style metal sheathed set

Molded plastic speaker cord plug has been replaced with with a soldered metal one

All else is factory original, including an excellent old school spring reverb tank

Tone to the bone in a lighltly used amp for only $800

Local pickup only please, as shipping costs have become absurd and it's always best to play before buying. I will however be happy to drive a ways to meet up for an exchange.

Dave, those amps with JBL's are awesome. Since I need to at least lighten my load some, can you let us know the weight of it?

My bathroom scale says 70 pounds with the JBL, which is 4 or 5 pounds less than with the original Eminence and 10 pounds less than my old 2x12 TR.

Thanks Dave. I'm using a Nashville 400 that weighs just under 60 pounds so I guess I better pass on yours. I love your amp but my doctors would try to amputate something I need!

Here's my "Blackfaced Twin" with two K-130's...and NOTHING here weighs over 25 lbs....Too easy. I'm over 60 with massive injuries and brain injury and nothing is heavy anymore this way and you can't beat this sound>

Rick Johnson built me and Lloyd Green these cabinets; this is the way to carry a Fender Twin Around(Lloyd said)
Dave's Amp sounds this good and blows the doors off any PEAVEY....

Sound samples? I appreciate the interest but what use would it be for me to record something played with my hands on my guitar and recorded via telephone then ripped to a fraction of the original data for internet transmission and playback on computer speakers or another telephone? Certainly this is no meaningful way to evaluate the subtleties of any audio equipment.
The sound and response of a JBL-equipped, BF Fender Twin Reverb is no mystery, being the first choice of many of the world's preeminent steel players. This one is fairly new, in perfect condition, with notable reliability upgrades. What it is. If you are unfamiliar with this gear please go to a music store that sells Fender amps and play through one. Or come over to my place and try it before buying as I have already suggested.

Sound Examples??? Very simple; both me and Dale Watson played through this exact RI 65 Twin amp when we recorded this LIVE IN LONDON album. Few years after Fender put these out; and they supplied us with two of them...Here ya go>

Hi Dave,

I'm genuinely super interested in your amp but I'm based in New Zealand.

Is international shipping completely out of the question for you?

If it's not, I would love to know what it would cost to get this amp down here.

Kind regards,
Levi

Thanks for the interest Levi, I know it would cost several hundreds of dollars to ship to California, pretty certain by the time you pay for freight and any customs duties the total would be far more than the amp is worth.

Thanks Ricky. Cool sound and great playing!
I'm asking to hear the sound of the actual amp for sale (with its speaker/modifications) by itself in a room. I can tell from my own recordings on my phone whether I like an amps sound or not (at least enough to make such a long drive to play it in person). Its a long way for me to drive and its a lot of money for me, so to not hear the amp is to make that commitment blindly. Maybe it sounds like a pointless ask for some people (which is fine). I'm a newer player and don't have the expertise of a lot of people on this forum, but its what I'd need to make such a long drive.

Eric; that is understandable. Good luck in your search.

For the record, you know I sent you both of these files via PM, Eric, it's not like you haven't heard the amp. I'm sorry if my effort fell short. We're all trying to do the best we can, I'm sure you'll find the amp of your dreams in good time.

I will be happy to wait, someone knows this amp is exactly what they want and why. Glad to meet you after a fashion, best of luck to you in your future.

Thanks for providing those recordings Dave (both here and in the PMs)- I didn't mean to be disingenuous or difficult or whatever. I'm just asking as I did in the PMs to hear the amp by itself (not in a studio recording) so I can determine whether its worth the long drive for me. I guess thats unorthodox. But I'm learning that we steel players are an unorthodox bunch. Alien (not meant as an insult to anyone but me) I suppose thats not possible.

Eric, If you want an AMP that is out standing go for this one. Dave has done the necessary changes and the Speaker is an excellent choice. When I started years ago I had the Black Face Twin but with a Grey JBL 15" speaker and it was awesome. And in time I had to change the reverb cable and speaker cable.
These amps are tough and reliable. Most of us Forum Members just buy it and then if it is not what we want we resell it. And I do not know Dave Graft but thru the Forum. I do know he has a great reputation. J.R. Rose
