I was just browsing the latest Sweetwater catalog and I noticed the baritone model has been added to the Classic Vibe Squier line.

Just a heads up for those of you looking for a 27 in. scale B tuned bari.

I couldn't find one when I was looking, so I found a 27 in. scale neck in AU and built my own from a Squier '51 a few years ago.

Baritones are a lot of fun, especially if you like the low and mean sound. I have a Zero Glide, a double D drop and Bigsby on mine and with some good amp reverb and tremolo, I get the rich low sound in the Duane Eddy realm, plus playing tunes like Killin' Time, Wichita Lineman, Queen of Memphis etc. gives me another dimension that I really like.

Tuned B to B, a 4th down, chord shapes are pretty familiar once you convert them from standard tuned E.

Not like a bass VI, and a step up from the A tuned bari, but the shorter scale is more familiar feeling if you're used to playing a Fender.

You can still get those low tones though, and also bring back that long lost tic tac sound you rarely hear anymore.
