Quilter TT12:
Which would be better??
Miked or direct out to the mixing board??
I would think Miked would be the best to get the full sound of the speaker??
Just wondering.

I'm not a "must be miked" type but I liked the miked better on a TT12. I tried it both ways and the miked won.

I almost always go direct with my Quilters because it’s easy, sounds good and minimizes feedback. Every one of the many sound techs I’ve worked with have loved it. The TT202 has the xlr or a 1/4” out with a cabinet simulator that goes to a DI box. I assume that’s the amp you have.

It seems live sound engineers love a good direct out.
I recently did a recording session where they wanted to mic the speaker, and use the D.O. , With the opportunity to choose either, or both. They went with the direct. |
