Beard Road-O-Phonic

Hey everyone. I have a question. I recently acquired a Beard Road-O-Phonic. This is the older model. It is SUPER quiet when I plug it in. It seems like I'm only getting a wet signal from it. Does this require a preamp or special stereo output cable to incorporate both pickups? I feel like I'm missing something here. My signal chain is the Beard>JD Aura>Amp.

The Road-O-Phonic I recently sold came with a stereo cord with two mono plugs on the other end.
It is designed for an amp, two amps, or mixer board with two separate channels.
This gives you control over each of the two pickups on the guitar.
You have individual control for the volume and tone of each pickup. Very Happy

You can mono out but you would only be getting a signal from one of the pickups and I don't know the strength of the signal.
If your signal is weak, chances are it is the signal from the cone pickup.

Stereo cords are readily available over the internet.
You can either get a stereo cord or you can get an adapter similar to what I have shown below that has a stereo plug that splits the signals into two mono signals and then you can connect two mono cords and go to somthing that has two separate channels.

Erv, not to be picky but that picture is of a mono splitter, a stereo would have a tip/rim/steeve plug

You need a stereo breakout cable. HOSA has two grades of these - https://hosatech.com/product-category/analog-audio/stereo-breakouts/ - but I don't see a 1/4" TRS to two 1/4" TS in the pro level version.

This is the inexpensive 1/4" male TRS to two 1/4" female TS version that I generally use when I need to break out a stereo signal into two mono signals: https://hosatech.com/products/analog-audio/stereo-breakouts/hosa-breakouts/ypp-117/

Sweetwater has them here - https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/YPP117--hosa-ypp-117-stereo-breakout-1-4-inch-trs-to-dual-1-4-inch-tsf-6-inch - but this is a pretty common item in a "good music store".

I'm sure other cable makers have these, but the HOSA version is pretty ubiquitous.

Thanks everyone. I used the stereo cable and threw a preamp in the circuit and it solved my problem. For some reason, if I went mono, it was just the neck pickup. When I went stereo, the red plug was the Nashville pickup and it sounds 10000x better. I appreciate it!
