It's definitely Mike and he's playing an Emmons. When Allison played the Opry in 2001, playing her first single "Send Down An Angel", which was featured on her "The Hardest Part" record, Mike Daly was playing his Emmons with her and I never will forget the lick he did at the end of "Send Down An Angel", it went from the middle strings to the low strings-I play the lick every time I play "Send Down An Angel" |

Russ Pahl on pedal steel guitar. There's a beautiful steel solo on "Send Down An Angel"after the song's guitar solo after the second verse and chorus |

There was a killer video of the song. I bought the album for the song but couldn't get into much of it, to much orchestration for me. Steve Earle knew he married way above himself, he even said so once before starting a song with her. Check out the video it used to be on utube, probably still is. FYI its Moorer. |

Joachim, thanks for the vid. While watching I noticed another vid on the side bar. It's Allison with a live version of my favorite song of her's: "A Soft Place to Fall".
The YouTube has some great shots of Mike Daly's playing. The vid also features one of my favorite Nashville session guitarists and husband of Christian singer, Ashley Cleveland, Kenny Greenberg:

Keep on picking'!

For some reason, I can not access the video links, but yes I toured with Allison during those years and that is me on the Jay Leno show playing an Emmons Le Grande. |

Mike,
The cut you did on Allison's Soft Place to Fall was pure magic. I love your harmonics on this song. Any tips on how to get these harmonics to just jump off the steel?
Thanks,
Don

Just caught up with this, I like the song in question a lot. A talented lady for sure, the first time I heard of her was on a cassette, remember those? _________________ Many play better than I do. Nobody has more fun. |

LOL whoever is on Steel - I still listen to AM all the time ! Hard to imagine she never broke the "pre-set mold" by Country Radio and Record Labels . _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders
