From Malawi, Gaspar Nali. The Babatoni. A homemade instrument with a creative combination of slide and percussion. Maybe it’s the string version of the didgeridoo?

It looks more like a very large version of the berimbau.

I hear punk rock! Just substitute in the power chords and screaming. I guess everything goes back to Africa... I have played my mouth bow with a slide and a stick kind of like that. You can get some really cool effects. Maybe one string is all you really need Laughing
