I finally got some nice weather to paint my new L.S. build outside. It's pretty much ready for clear coats. I'm quite happy with it so far. It will have an Alumitone pick up with a moustache bezel for something a little different.

It's now very close to completion. I learned a lot in this build - mostly to have more patience. I just have to finish the wiring and string it up. For sure I'll never run across another one like it Laughing

Nice job Dennis. You can clear your mind now that it's complete and think of your next design.

Beautiful work Dennis. I'd like to hear it played when finished. I've seen the Alumintone pu's but don't think I've heard one.

That looks awesome. What sort of wood is used for the fretboard?

Thanks a lot for the nice comments guys.

Dan, the fret board is Kabo Rosewood. A building buddy and I bought a chunk of it, which had some nice contrasting light colored sap wood on one side. We flipped a coin and he got the sap w. side, which turned out lovely on his build. My fret board sure darkened up after applying the lacquer clear coats. The fret markers are 1/16" sq. shell from DePaule Supply.

Glen, I have an Alumitone P.U. in my 8-string GB console guitar. It has a lovely tone using my Roland Cube 80 amp. So I decided to try the 10 string version on this build.

Sammuel, I have already designed & started on this winter's project(s). It is a pair of large body "Dobros". I was very lucky to obtain some cut off pieces of snake wood for the head stocks.

Hi Dennis,
Which came first, the rattler or the wood?

I got the rattle about 30 years ago. The snake lived under a friend's mobile home in San Diego.
